Powered by VT-ARC, the Basic Research Innovation Collaboration Center (BRICC) Partnership Intermediary Agreement supports transfer and transition of technology from our sponsoring partners into practice or further advancement, facilitates research collaborations with industry and academia, and enables Primary Investigators to reap benefits from research investments. We collaborate with

Some T3 capabilities that BRICC can offer: 

Educate: We provide training on Technology Transfer and Transition (T3) including inventions, intellectual property rights and licensing, collaborative research, exchange of knowledge, technologies, facilities, equipment, personnel, etc., as well as the benefits of utilizing T3. 

Outreach: 

  • Industry days: The team hold industry days on behalf of our sponsoring partners to market technologies and research collaboration opportunities to the small business community or other external entities. 

  • Website, Relevant conferences, Presentations, Brochures: We provide information regarding the T3 opportunities on our website, on brochures and by attending or presenting at the relevant conferences to attract and utilize US small business partners to advance research at the federal labs to larger stages of development. 

  • Market research: The team can provide in-depth market research regarding a technology being transferred to identify the potential benefits or further investments. 

 

Connect & Build Partnership: We link the federal laboratory expertise with the marketplace by 

  • Providing guidance and assistance in establishing and negotiating the appropriate collaborative agreements, develop and track metrics for T3 and timely reporting of contributions in T3. 

  • Conducting periodic forums that bring together federal researchers, academia, commercial entities, and other government entities to share information and identify potential commercialization opportunities. 

  • Identifying and establishing partnerships with local, state, and other regional partners focused on economic development to enhance the impact and awareness of the federal research investment and identify potential collaboration opportunities. 

  • Assist with evaluating commercial products for use in DoD operations.
