What is the BRICC?

The BRICC, as part of the Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) between AFOSR and VT-ARC, offers an environment and suite of services that foster meaningful and impactful initiatives and engagement opportunities to further the overall AFOSR mission of finding and funding revolutionary basic science.

Our Mission

  • Collaborate to Innovate: Partner bright minds to question, explore, and inspire

  • Learn from Data: Enable data-driven decision-making via automated analytics for quantitative and objective strategic guidance

  • Educate and Develop the Workforce: Support STEM outreach & internal workforce development

Collaboration

Environment:

The BRICC provides a reconfigurable, collaborative environment that enables AFOSR members, academia, industry, and other government entities to effectively experience innovation and collaboration and perform as teams, whether located remotely or onsite.

We provide support for scheduling, booking, set-up and tear-down, and café/overall facility management.

Strategic Services:

The BRICC offers expert facilitation for collaborative engagements and will develop measures and metrics to assist in describing and monitoring the outcomes. The BRICC offers facilitators and rapporteurs as needed in addition to providing finished reports.

University Outreach:

The BRICC supports AF connections with academia and other education entities to identify and communicate the science and engineering (S&E) workforce needs of the Air Force. We enhance outreach to funded and unfunded universities such as historical black colleges and universities (HBCUs), minority institutions, and land-grant universities to promote awareness of AF S&E career opportunities.
